Dr. Colleen L. Catera earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1996. After practicing in both New York and Connecticut, she returned to her native Long Island in 2011 to be closer to family. That same year, she purchased a dental practice in West Babylon, which she relocated to a newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility in Babylon Village in May 2018. Patients have described this new location as peaceful and calming.

Dr. Catera emphasizes building honest and open relationships with her patients, treating them with respect, kindness, and compassion. She has extensive experience assisting patients with dental anxiety, helping many overcome their fears. Her practice offers advanced technologies, including digital x-rays, intraoral cameras, and Zoom in-office whitening.

In 2013, Dr. Catera became a certified Invisalign provider and has since achieved Silver Provider status. She engages in ongoing education, attending the Greater New York Dental Meeting annually since 1997 and participating in study clubs with local oral surgeons and periodontists. In 2015, she trained at the Zimmer Institute in Carlsbad, CA, to become certified in restoring "All on 4" implant cases.

Dr. Catera is a member of the American Dental Association, the Suffolk County Dental Society, and the New York State Dental Association. She is committed to community service, volunteering with organizations such as the Connecticut Mission of Mercy and participating in events like "Dentistry from the Heart." In 2016, she hosted a Children's Free Dental Day at her office and has delivered oral health presentations at various elementary schools in New York and Connecticut.

In her personal life, Dr. Catera is married to her husband, Hayden, and they have two Chihuahuas named Pedro and Louie. She enjoys traveling, cooking, yoga, weight training, and taking dance classes.

Alexandra: Dental Hygienist

With over 15 years of experience, Alexandra is a highly skilled dedicated dental hygienist  who creates a welcoming, trusting environment where patients feel heard and cared for. Helping patients overcome dental anxieties is especially gratifying, along with the dental endoscope she is focused on helping patients achieve optimal oral health and preserve their natural teeth.

A key part of her approach is patient education. She emphasizes practical oral hygiene techniques and provides realistic, effective strategies patients can easily integrate into their daily routines. By combining this education with advanced technology  she ensures every patient receives the highest level of care, customized to their needs. 

Certified in using the dental endoscope, a cutting-edge tool that provides a nonsurgical solution for treating periodontal disease, she offers an advanced alternative to traditional “cut and stitch” surgery. Unlike conventional periodontal treatments, the dental endoscope allows for precise treatment, targeting the problem at its source while keeping the procedure minimally invasive.

This innovative approach leads to improved periodontal health, faster recovery times, and greater comfort, all without the need for painful surgery

Alexandra earned her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene from Briarcliffe College, where she was recognized on the “Dean’s List” ,”President’s List “and received the “Compassionate Caregiver Award”. Throughout her career, she has worked alongside general dentists and specialists across Long Island, honing her expertise in comprehensive patient care.

Today, she combines her experience with state-of-the-art technology to deliver exceptional results for her patients.

Mayra: Dental Hygienist

Mayra is a dedicated dental professional with over 10 years of experience in the field of dentistry, including 5 years specializing in oral surgery. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene in 2019 from Farmingdale State College and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Hygiene Education and Public Health.

Outside of her professional career, Mayra enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends. She is also fluent in Spanish is very passionate about the dental field and enjoys interacting with her patients. 

Viaris: Dental Hygienist

A proud graduate of Farmingdale State College, Class of 2016, Viaris has dedicated over 8 years to providing exceptional dental care as a registered dental hygienist. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she values building strong, lasting relationships with her patients, ensuring each visit is comfortable and educational.

Outside of the dental office, Viaris loves spending time with her husband and their two dogs, often hiking the beautiful trails of Upstate New York. Her passion for connecting with patients and improving their oral health drives her daily, making her a trusted and compassionate part of the team.

Geisa: Dental Assistant

Geisa, born in Puerto Rico, is a bilingual and dedicated wife and mother of three. With 15 years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant and 8 years serving as a Dental Assistant in our office, Geisa brings a compassionate and clinically skilled approach to her work.

She has a natural ability to put patients at ease, ensuring a comfortable experience for everyone she cares for. Outside of the office, Geisa loves to cook and experiment with new recipes, always bringing creativity into the kitchen. She also loves to travel and enjoys spending time out on the East end. 

Stacey: Practice Manager,  Insurance/ Financial Specialist

Stacey is a versatile professional with a wealth of over 15 years  experience in the dental field, Stacey serves as our dedicated Practice Manager. Her deep knowledge of insurance,treatment planning along with financial  arrangements makes her an invaluable asset to our team, earning her the title of "Insurance Guru" and financial expert. Stacey’s commitment to patient care is unwavering—she is driven by a passion for ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care, while helping them navigate the often complex world of dentistry.

A lifelong learner, Stacey is constantly expanding her expertise. She stays up to date with the latest advancements in the ever-evolving field of dentistry, ensuring our practice remains at the forefront of innovative care. Her dedication to her craft is only surpassed by her dedication to the patients she serves.

Stacey is also a licensed Esthetician , along with a career in Floral Design/ Wedding planning that she has passionately pursued for over 25 years. Her multifaceted skill set showcases her unique blend of knowledge and experience.

Outside the office, Stacey is a devoted mother to her son, whom she adores. In her free time, she loves boating, spending time outdoors, and cherishing moments with family and friends. Her energy, enthusiasm, and love for life are truly remarkable, making her a one-of-a-kind leader and mentor both inside and outside the practice.
